17th Sofia Meetings AWARDS

17th Sofia Meetings presents the following Awards for Second Feature Pitchings

CINELAB ROMANIA award goes to FORTUNE-TELLER
CINELAB presents post-production services lab equal to 25,000 Euro.
Jury statement: Inspired by the filmmakers’ work with a Roma community, this is a bold project we were deeply impressed by, for the way it tackles specific social practices and stereotypes from within the culture it portrays, while also proposing their universality.

FOCUSFOX (Hungary) Award award goes to PARTY FOR SHY PEOPLE
FOCUSFOX presents post-production  services equal to 10,000 Euro.
Jury statement: Set in a dystopian future in which introverts are outlawed, this absurdist black comedy is a very timely take on the dogma of self-promotion that we believe will make us laugh as much as give nightmares to the shy among us.

EASTWEST FILMDISTRIBUTION Award goes to VAMPIRISM
EASTWEST presents script consultancy with Steven Goldsmith, an Irish-American script doctor equal to 5,000 Euro.
Jury statement: A unique blend of vampire horror and flamenco music, unfolding in an Andalusian desert village during the onset of the 1930s authoritarian regime, the project presented a strong visual concept that we found really alluring.

Young Producer Award YAPIMLAB goes to SHIPBUILDING
YAPIMLAB invites one producer for a week of project consultancy in Istanbul covering travel and accommodation and presenting networking  possibilities within Turkish industry, equal to 5 000 Euro.
