20th Sofia Meetings Awards


The Cinelab Romania Award of was given to the project THE LAST SUMMER (Portugal) directed by João Nuno Pinto and Fernanda Polacow and produced by Andreia Nunes. The Award will cover post-production lab services (in the amount of 25,000 Euro).

The Focus Fox Studio Award, in the amount of 10,000 Euro in post-production services, was handed by Sasha Wieser to the project DROWNING DRY (Lithuania) directed by Laurynas Bareisa and produced by Klementina Remeikaite. 

Gruvi presented two awards worth 5,000 Euro each, to be spent on marketing AD technology services. The awards were given to the following projects: JAUNE ET BLEU (Italy) directed by Giulia Grandinetti and produced by Riccardo Neri and RESONANCE (Bulgaria) directed by Yordan Petkov and produced by Vanya Rainova and Victoria Mitreva. 

EastWest Filmdistribution Award – script consultancy with Steven Goldsmith, an Irish-American script doctor and writer (in the amount of 5,000 Euro), was given to the project DISSONANCE (Bulgaria) directed by Elitza Petkova and produced by Veselka Kiryakova. 

Young Producer Award – Yapım Lab will invite one producer for a week of project consultancy in Istanbul, covering travel and accommodation and presenting networking possibilities within the Turkish industry (in the amount of 5,000 Euro). This award was given to Vako Kirkitadze, the producer of the project WORKER (Georgia), directed by Giorgi Kobalia. 

The members of the jury of 20th Sofia Meetings were Eva Pons (ARTE, France), Katharina Stumm (Connecting Cottbus, Germany) and Flaminio Zadra (Palosanto, Italy).

To be announced:

Producers Network (Cannes Market) will award accreditation for Producers Network at Cannes Market 2023.

Crossroads/Agora will select and present one of the projects from Sofia Meetings during their next edition.

Mediterranean Film Institute  will award a scholarship to one of the projects from Sofia Meetings to participate in MFI Script 2 Film Workshops.
