It is the straw for Vera, when her son Hristo becomes a victim of a vicious homophobic attack. She makes a decision that whatever it takes, she will find a way for her and Hristo to relocate to the capital Sofia. She begins to answer personal ads by older men and not before long she and Hristo move in with the 68-year-old Nicola. And while Hristo finds love and understanding, his mother's life begins to spiral into darkness.
